COUNCILLORS VIEWS

Councillors: About

WHAT HAVE OUR COUNCILLORS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT THE CEDING OF PUBLIC LAND VS. HOW DID THEY VOTE?

MHAG previously asked all candidates standing in the 2023 council election what their position was on ceding public lands for the benefit of ADC.

On 28 May 2024 the councillors voted on ADC's PAT Application regarding the use of public lands.

All councillors, expect for Russell Armstrong, voted in favour of giving the public lands to ADC.

Sadly, the majority of councillors did not keep their word.

Andrew Maurice has previously declared a proximity interest in the Wellington Street site and abstained from council deliberations and votes on the matter.

What do you think?

RUSSELL ARMSTRONG

2023: I am totally against the ceding of public lane (verges) on both
Wellington and Manning Streets for carparks, these should always
remain public green space verges.

2024: Voted against ADC PAT Application & kept promise to protect public lands.
